Drover collects the minimum account, drone, and flight-related information needed to deliver weather, NOTAM, planning, drone management, notifications, and community features.
What we collect
Depending on how you use Drover, this can include your first name, last name, email address, drone brand and model, favorite places, planned flights, device notification token, profile photo, and community posts or location details that you choose to share.
How we use it
We use this information to operate the app, authenticate your account, sync your profile, evaluate flight conditions, send reminders or verification messages, moderate community content, and improve reliability and safety-related features.
How data may be shared
Drover may share limited data with approved service providers that support hosting, maps, analytics, notifications, email delivery, moderation, and related infrastructure. Community content and locations you post may be visible to other users.
Free trial period
Drover is free to use for a short period before a subscription is required. So that the free period is given once per device rather than once per installation, we record that a device has started it.
To do this the app reads the identifier the platform provides for this purpose — a value stored in the keychain on iOS, and the Android ID on Android. It is hashed on our server and only the hash is stored: we can recognise a device we have seen before, but the identifier itself is never kept and cannot be recovered from the hash. It is not linked to your account, is not used for advertising or tracking, and is not shared with anyone.
Subscription data
If you subscribe to Drover Pro, we store a record of the purchase so we can confirm your access: the store the purchase came from, the product bought, its status and expiry date, and the transaction identifier issued by Apple or Google.
We never receive or store your card details, billing address, or any other payment information. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Because subscribing does not require an account, a purchase made while signed out is linked to a randomly generated identifier for that installation of the app. It identifies the install, not you, and carries no personal information. Signing in later attaches the subscription to your account and clears that identifier.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Deletion takes effect immediately and needs no approval: Drover removes your account together with the user-owned records tied to it, including your profile, sessions, drones, favourites, posts, likes, and comments, subject to operational, backup, security, fraud-prevention, and legal retention requirements.
